Dave,
I am constantly aggravated at having to enter my username and password multiple times during an MOL session ... i.e. once to search for new messages and then again to get into the real names area (or one of the other private areas) for example. I have learned not to open multiple windows in restricted areas so that I don't have to do it extra times on those, but there is still the duplication from the search entry. Couldn't the sign-in info be captured when used for a search so that we wouldn't have to enter it again? |

Log in to your profile and change your options to 'save password in cookie' then you'll only need to log in once for browsing or searching the realname section. |

This worked too well ... I had to take it back out. Since I have two usernames (this one and my realname one), the cookies seemed to get crossed up. At any rate, I could not post with either one in the non-realname section after having logged in with the realname one. I didn't try to post in the realname section ... that might have worked. I prefer to do my searches with the realname one, since I then see all the New Messages including the realname ones. But, the system won't let me post with my realname ID outside of the realname area. So, I guess I'm "caught between a rock and a hard place". |

Yeah, happens to me, too. I can read both areas fine, but when it comes time to post I end up typing the login information in again. |

The thing I don't understand (back to the original post) is why the search entry doesn't have the same effect that the first "login" does. Even without the cookie setting, I don't have to "login" every time I access one of those threads ... only the first time during a browser session. So why can't it remember it just as well from the search entry? |
